Book Printing

Printed copies to your specification, with a proof before any run is approved.

  • Free consultation
  • A written quote, specific to your book
  • You keep full ownership
Overview

Some books need to exist as physical copies: for events, for direct sales, for gifts, for a bookshelf. We arrange printing to your chosen trim size, paper, binding, and quantity, and nothing runs until you have approved a proof.

We arrange printing for authors in Chicago and across the United States, from a print-ready file or from a manuscript we format for you first.

Process

A simple 6-step process that keeps your book moving forward

The same clear sequence on every project: you always know what happens next.

  1. Discovery

We start by understanding your idea, goals, audience, and the stage you are currently at.

  2. Planning

The structure, content, and overall approach are organized so everything has clarity from the beginning.

  3. Strategy

We create a clear direction for your project, including the right service recommendations and a practical roadmap.

  4. Creation

We begin the writing, development, editing, or design work based on your project needs.

  5. Refinement

The work is polished, reviewed, and prepared to meet professional publishing standards.

  6. Publishing & Growth

Once the work is ready, we guide you toward publishing, presentation, and the next steps for author growth.

In brief
We arrange printing to your chosen trim size, paper, binding, and quantity, and nothing runs until you have approved a proof.

Before we start

Before we start

Published in your name, set up to be found. Good book printing starts with the decisions behind the work. Here is what to think about, what to prepare, and how to make your reviews more useful.

Note

Your book,
your name on it.

  1. Decide what you are publishing

Ebook, paperback, hardcover, audiobook, or all of them. Each format has its own file requirements, pricing considerations, and platform rules, and the order you release them in affects the launch. The plan starts with that decision.

  2. Get the metadata right the first time

Title, subtitle, description, categories, and keywords decide where your book appears and who sees it. They are easier to set correctly before launch than to repair afterwards, so research comes before the upload.

  3. Keep the keys

Accounts, listings, and files are set up so you own and control them. Keep your login details, your final files, and your cover sources together; you will need them for every update, reprint, and new edition.

Come with an idea. Leave with a clear direction.

Bring your current material, your intended readers, a few references you like, and any deadline that matters. We will talk through the work and confirm what belongs in your scope.

Questions

Everything you need to know

Common questions about book printing.

Do I need a print-ready file?

Not necessarily. If you have one, we check it. If you have only a manuscript, our Book Formatting service prepares the interior and Book Cover Design prepares the cover.

What binding options are there?

Paperback (perfect bound), hardcover with a dust jacket or printed case, and saddle-stitched for short booklets. We help you choose based on how the book will be used.

How many copies can I order?

From a small run to a large one. The right quantity depends on how you plan to use and store the copies, and we talk that through before quoting.

Will I see a proof first?

Yes. A proof is produced and approved by you before the full run is printed.

Next steps

What happens after you get in touch

Three steps, and nothing starts until you have seen a plan in writing.

  1. A consultant reads it

A publishing consultant looks at what you sent and gets back to you within one business day.

  2. A free consultation

A call about your book, your goals and where it stands. No pressure to commit on the call.

  3. A written plan and quote

What your book needs and in what order, with a quote in writing, specific to your book, before anything starts.
